Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Wimbledon Movers takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to uphold human rights and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our relationships.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Wimbledon Movers provides professional moving and relocation services. Our activities rely on a broad supply chain that includes logistics partners, vehicle and equipment suppliers, storage facilities, labour providers, and various professional services. We understand that the risk of modern slavery can exist at multiple levels within these supply chains, particularly where subcontracted labour, transport, and ancillary services are involved.
We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who share our values and uphold the same high standards of ethical conduct.
Zero-Tolerance Approach
Wimbledon Movers has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, debt bondage, and all forms of exploitation. Any involvement in, or failure to report, suspected modern slavery is incompatible with our values and will lead to decisive action, which may include termination of employment or business relationships.
All directors, managers, employees, agency workers, and contractors are required to comply with this policy and to act to prevent, detect, and report any concerns relating to modern slavery in our operations or supply chains.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers, contractors, and service providers to operate in line with our zero-tolerance approach. As part of our procurement and onboarding processes, we assess the risk of modern slavery by considering sector, geography, type of work, and reliance on low-wage or migrant labour.
Where we identify higher-risk areas, we may carry out targeted supplier audits, request evidence of labour practices, and require confirmation of compliance with applicable labour and human rights legislation. These audits may include document checks, site visits where appropriate, and discussions with management about recruitment, working conditions, and grievance procedures.
Non-compliance with our modern slavery expectations will result in remedial action plans, increased monitoring, suspension, or termination of the business relationship, depending on the severity and responsiveness of the supplier.
Reporting Channels and Protection
We encourage an open culture where concerns about modern slavery can be raised without fear of retaliation. Employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to report any suspicion or knowledge of modern slavery or human trafficking within our business or supply chains through internal reporting channels to line managers or senior management.
Reports will be treated sensitively and, where possible, confidentially. Wimbledon Movers will investigate all reports thoroughly and take appropriate action. We will not tolerate victimisation of any person who raises a concern in good faith, and any retaliation will be treated as a serious disciplinary matter.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our workforce. Relevant teams, including procurement, operations, and management, are given guidance on recognising signs of exploitation and understanding the correct procedures for reporting concerns.
We aim to continuously improve our understanding of modern slavery issues and to incorporate lessons learned from audits, investigations, and external best practice into our policies and procedures.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery sits with senior management, who review risk assessments, supplier performance, and the effectiveness of our controls on a regular basis. We monitor our practices to identify areas for improvement and to ensure our commitments are being upheld.
This statement will be reviewed annually and updated where necessary to reflect changes in legislation, guidance, industry practice, and our business operations. Any significant developments in our approach or findings from audits and investigations will be incorporated into future versions of this statement.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the management of Wimbledon Movers and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery in all aspects of our business.
